Introduction

We want you to be satisfied with Macatuv. If for any reason you are not, this Refund Policy explains when you may be eligible for a refund of fees paid for our Service.

14-Day Money-Back Guarantee (New Customers)

If you are a new customer (first purchase) and you decide Macatuv is not for you, we offer a full refund within fourteen (14) days of your initial purchase, no questions asked, provided that you have not used any credits or AI generation services during that period. This 14-day window is a "cooling-off" period in line with many consumer protection laws. If you haven't started using our digital service (e.g., you purchased credits or a subscription but did not generate any content), you are eligible for a refund if requested within 14 days.

Condition – No Usage

The primary condition for a refund is that no credits have been consumed and no AI outputs have been generated using your account after the purchase. By "no credits used," we mean:

  • If you bought a one-time credits package (say 100 credits), none of those credits have been spent on generation.
  • If you subscribed to a monthly plan with a credit allotment, you have not used any of the credits in that subscription, nor utilized any unlimited features if offered.
  • If the service doesn't use "credits" per se, then it means you have not made any non-trivial use of the platform (for example, not generated any content).

This policy is in place because once you use the AI service, it incurs costs and provides value (the content) that cannot be "returned." It is similar to how digital content is handled: if you started using it (downloading or streaming), the right of withdrawal can be waived. We consider generating your first content as the point at which the service has been consumed.

How to Request a Refund

To request a refund within the allowed period, please contact our support team at support@macatuv.com (or through the contact form on our website) and include:

  • The email associated with your Macatuv account.
  • The order number or transaction receipt, if available (this helps us locate your payment in Lemon Squeezy or our system).
  • The date of purchase.
  • A brief statement that you have not used any credits and are requesting a refund under the 14-day guarantee.

We may verify your usage in our system to confirm that no credits were used. Once confirmed, we will process the refund.

Refund Method

If approved, refunds will be issued to the original payment method you used. For example, if you paid by credit card via Lemon Squeezy, the refund will be credited back to that same card. Please allow some time (typically 5-10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer) for the refund to appear on your statement. We will notify you via email when the refund has been processed on our end.

Partial Refunds

Generally, if any credits have been used, a refund will not be granted (since the service was delivered). We do not offer prorated refunds for partially used credits or time. For instance:

  • If you purchased 100 credits and used 10, we will not refund the remaining credits' value; instead, you can continue to use the remaining credits, but the purchase is considered consumed.
  • If you are on a monthly subscription and you've used some portion of the allowance or service during the month, that month will not be refunded. You can cancel future renewals (see Cancellation below), but the current month remains active until it ends.

In cases of exceptional circumstances (e.g., a technical issue on our side severely prevented use of the service, or accidental double purchase), we may consider partial refunds or other remedies at our discretion. Please reach out to support in such cases.

Subscription Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time to prevent future billing. Canceling a subscription will stop the auto-renewal, meaning you won't be charged for the next billing cycle. However, you will retain access to your paid features until the end of the current paid period (we do not provide a mid-period refund for the unused remainder of the time, except within the initial 14-day window if unused as described). For example, if you subscribe to a monthly plan on January 1 and cancel on January 20, you won't be charged again on Feb 1, but you can still use the premium features until Jan 31.

Refunds on Renewal Payments

The 14-day refund guarantee applies to your first purchase. For subsequent automatic renewals of subscriptions, we generally do not offer refunds since those are continuation of service, unless the renewal charge was in error (e.g., you had cancelled but still got charged, or there was a technical glitch). We send renewal reminders (if we do) or allow you to cancel anytime before renewal, so it's your responsibility to manage the subscription renewal. However, if you forgot to cancel and a renewal just occurred, you can contact us immediately (within a few days of renewal) and explain the situation. At our discretion, we might provide a courtesy refund for an unintentional renewal, especially if no credits from the new period have been used. This is handled case-by-case and is not guaranteed.

Refunds for Credits Packages

If you purchased a one-time credits pack (not a subscription) and are within 14 days, unused as per above, you may request a refund. If you purchased multiple separate credit packs in one go, we treat that as one purchase for refund eligibility (so if you used one pack but not another, it's considered partial use—likely no refund; but contact support to discuss options, possibly we could refund the entirely unused pack while deducting the one used).

Exceptions

Technical Issues

If you experienced a severe technical problem on our side that made the service unusable and we were unable to fix or provide the service, we will work with you to make it right, which could include extending your subscription or offering a refund regardless of usage. We value customer satisfaction and fairness.

Violation of Terms

If your account was terminated or suspended due to violation of our Terms of Use or policies (e.g., using the service for forbidden purposes), you are not eligible for refunds, including for unused credits, due to breach of contract on your part.

Chargebacks

We encourage users to request a refund through us rather than issuing a chargeback through their bank. If a chargeback is initiated, it can delay the resolution. If we find a chargeback was unfounded (service was delivered as promised), we reserve the right to contest it. It's better to communicate with us; we're here to help.

User Content Ownership & Refunds

Note that any content you generated during your usage remains accessible to you (unless you request deletion) even if you cancel or get a refund (provided you still have an account). If you request a refund under the no-usage policy, typically you wouldn't have any content since you didn't use the credits. If any content was generated (like during a free trial or such), you still own that content as per our Terms.

Future Purchases

If you received a refund as part of our guarantee, you are welcome to continue using any free tier or even purchase again in the future. However, note that the 14-day refund guarantee is generally intended for first-time use. We may not honor repeated refund requests from the same user as it might indicate abuse of the policy. Our system will track if an account has already claimed the initial refund.

Compliance with Law

Our refund policy is in line with consumer protection laws. For EU customers, this policy aligns with the EU directive on consumer rights for digital content, acknowledging the right of withdrawal within 14 days if the service hasn't begun. By using our service immediately (i.e., generating output), you acknowledge that you waive the withdrawal right for that service since performance has begun, which is standard for digital content. We explicitly seek your agreement to this when you sign up or make a purchase (for legal compliance, e.g., a checkbox saying "I agree the digital service starts now and I may lose my right to withdraw"). If for some reason we failed to obtain that consent, the 14-day right may still be exercised even if used, as per law – but in practice, we do implement the consent to avoid confusion.
